Quality Supervisor

POSITION TITLE: Quality Supervisor

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Responsible for the quality function within the manufacturing plant; assuring that all products meet or exceed the customer’s specifications and expectations.

Output: Supervision

· Responsible for completing jobs as scheduled on the quality assurance priority dispatch report (PDR) and shipment report.

· Responsible for coaching and training employees and making recommendations on hiring and termination of employees within the department.

· Attends and provides instruction or feedback in meetings as a quality assurance representative.

· Responsible for scheduling and execution of daily quality assurance activities to support production.

· Leads and conducts meetings as needed – Kata, Zero Defect Plan, department meetings. Participates in other meetings (as needed) where quality assurance representation is required.

· Assist in developing training material and providing instruction for internal training classes.

· Responsible for following all documented and posted safety procedures and requirements.

· Ensure compliance with and follow documented Quality/AS9100 procedures as well as company anddepartment policy.

Output: AS9100 Programs/requirements

· Scheduling, preparing, and conducting internal and external audits to AS9100 and internal requirements.

· Manages the calibration schedule and database and coordinating calibration and verification activities.

· Assuring corrective actions are completed on time and effective.

Output: Analysis of Quality data

· Working closely with production to identify and correct adverse Defective Parts per Million (DPM) trends.

· Aid in development of inspection plans and work instructions for areas and processes as required.

· Identifying continual improvement opportunities in procedures and in practice.

· Process Returned Material Authorizations (RMAs) and Quality Alerts promptly and accurately.

· Calculate and document the cost of poor quality associated with scrap and rework of product.

Output: Customer relations

· Respond to customer needs regarding quality, including generating notice of escapes and responding to corrective action requests as needed.

· Assuring corrective actions are completed on time and effective.

· Interfaces with customers (external and internal) to insure quality requirements are clear and communicated.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

· Three (3) years minimum experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or related field

· Effective leadership experience

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Proficient in AS9100 quality management system

· Ability to interpret detailed blueprints and customer/industry/international specifications

· American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification preferred

PHYSICAL/SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

· Ability to bend, stoop and lift.

· Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

· Must have good vision for detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 – $20.00 per hour
