Purchasing Supervisor/Lead

Job Summary: Join our purchasing team with a manufacturing company that collaborates to continually improve to be world class! In this role you will source materials and lead a small team of buyers and assist the Supply Chain Manager with Department goals and projects.

Qualifications:

Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant purchasing experience
Prior training or supervisory experience preferred
Ability to read mechanical blueprints preferred
Proficient in use of various software programs including; Windows, Microsoft Office suite; Outlook, Excel, Word, and ERP / MRP applications
Knowledgeable of procurement cycle
Thorough understanding of Bill of Materials and Job routings
Detail oriented and ability to work with large amounts of data

Duties/Responsibilities:

Material Procurement
Identify and evaluate new sources for materials, hardware, components and outside services

Negotiate and procure materials and outside processes using ERP system
Optimize supply chain performance – quality, cost and risk

Lead Buyers
Develop, train and supervise buyers
Provide ongoing training and performance feedback to buyers and provide feedback to Supply Chain Manager pertaining to department performance and observations

Improved Processes and Procedures
Assist buyers in resolving procurement obstacles and questions that arise
Observe processes, identify areas for improvement, advise Supply Chain Manager regarding observations and processes needing improvement, with ideas and proposed solutions
Ensure compliance with Quality ISO/AS9100 requirements
Support and contribute to the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values
Sustain best practices utilizing lean manufacturing techniques
Contribute to and promote continuous rapid improvement

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour
